  1. Yang is the man with the plan.

After watching countless interviews of both yang and Bernie, Bernie completely dismissing UBI without disproving it, his fanbase throwing the most progressive idea to the side, accusing it of being a libertarian Trojan horse in the same way Republicans accuse gun control being the first step to government dictatorship without any bases and only speculation….I can't see Bernie as even my second choice anymore.

    Yang or bust.

  2. It's not something for nothing Cuomo it's the Peoples Data that's being sold People are just giving a Handout to those Companies every Day why would it be wrong to get something in Return. Besides by 2030 when 47% of the People are out of their Jobs searching for something new, do you really think they are all going to Work for the Government ? That's Crazytalk right there.

  3. https://www.durhamcool.com/welcome/yang-is-making-sense/

Andrew Yang is making sense. Last night’s debate demonstrated to this voter why Yang deserves our full attention. Two main Democratic Presidential candidate’s, Andrew Yang positions resonate with me, Universal Income and how the Robot Apocalypse can bring our divided nation together. The dark side of automation is a looming issue creating deep chasms in our already divided nation. Consider how well our current Executive in chief exploited this group’s legitimate feelings of economic loss. We are in the midst of a major transition to artificial intelligence (see automation). The President has blamed immigrants when the clear nemesis is Artificial intelligence-the advance of technology. Imagine how farmers felt during the genesis of the industrial age.

Consider truck drivers. There are 3.5 million truck drivers on the road today (robot trucks will be here within 3-5 years and quickly replacing drivers). The savings are considerable ( replacing human drivers with self-driving trucks that can run all of the time) will save an estimated $168 Billion a year. Artificial intelligence is replacing thousands of call center jobs right now. About 8% of American jobs are in the STEM field, 92% are not. The 5 most common jobs in the U.S. right now are 1) Administrative and clerical 2) Retail and Sales 3) food service 4) Truck Driving 5) Manufacturing. Right now all aforementioned jobs are in the midst of a change to Artificial intelligence (automation). 32% of Americans graduated from college, 68% with a high school diploma or below. 68% of Americans are working in the at-risk to automation industries. We need an interim solution for the margins to keep the most at risk from going off the rails-into much more expensive societal concerns (incarceration, homelessness, drug addiction, emergency room healthcare). Remember an extra $1000.00 for the average working American, living paycheck to paycheck, would largely end up right back into the economy in the form of retail, deferred car repair payments, dining out, out of pocket healthcare costs. This purchase activity would result in revenue back to the states/Fed. We would see the revenue back and save on societal shared marginal costs. Easy to take the jaded view and consider these payments a form of welfare. Remember that we practice corporate welfare every year by allowing companies to pay the equivalent of ZERO income taxes. Why not ask these companies benefiting from automation to provide a dividend back to all of us and especially those displaced by automation?

  4. You are, Yang, you; not we.
I don't hate migrants, I refuse to accept their barbaric African and Indian stone age cultures when I ignored my own's modern culture to assimilate.
Jungle beats have no place in forests, except at the head of the invading war party.

  5. They should be up on stage all they want. They are never going to win. What you have there is it Army of stupids. And you Fredo are the biggest stupid of all!

  6. It's not always scapegoating, and to suggest otherwise just isn't what an adult in the room would say. I paint houses and offices in North Carolina, and have for decades. I know people in all of the trades. Developers will naturally pick crews composed of mostly undocumented workers, sheltered under a few legal ones, because they underbid everyone who seeks a fair wage. When adults live 12-15 deep in a trailer and think their life is good enough, and they are busy sending money back home to where ever, that's not Sour Grapes on my part. It's empirically bad, objectively bad. If your politics won't let you acknowledge what is true, then your politics are shit. Same goes for farm work. "Americans won't do the job," they say. Well, not for the unfair wages they offer, no. Funny how pro-labor people can't seem to apply their politics evenly. New construction and food prices are kept artificially low. And then everyone proceeds to just lie to themselves about things that are obviously true. Goddammit, you weak-assed partisans. Get your shit together and make a friend of truth. Here's how you know my will is good – I will tell you a secret the elites of Left and Right don't want you to know. I DON'T MIND COMPETITION. I would welcome every single Latino who is even here ILLEGALLY to compete openly for jobs, but not under duress as a special group. See, the status quo is to allow them in but to keep them illegal, and that precarious legal position keeps them from asking for better pay and conditions, and thus my wages are artificially suppressed. Allow them here and get them out from beneath the thumbs of employers, and then we'll see who "the Bad Guys" are. Until then? Everyone with a facile answer that avoids the truth is the Bad Guy, in my estimation. Tell the truth or die in a fire.

  7. Spot on….1k would change my already full time job single dad life. I could afford to buy a house, and maybe go to school. It would be really nice to see something for the taxes I have paid my entire life.

  8. This is the stupidest set of ideas from the Democrats. He is looking to buy votes. Inflation would skyrocket and US dollar would be worthless. Fredo is to dumb to realize it.

  9. CNN, we love you, but we also love Yang. He’s better than the other candidates. It’s true and other people know it.

  10. A majority of Americans don't believe in building a wall, after learning how bought the news media is watching them is cringy

  11. Old ass dinosaurs who don't know where to go to vote base their political opinion from news media, when the rest of the county will follow candidates directly and observe real life citizens. Fuck CNN and FOX

  12. Was sooo sorry to see a video of Yang walking away from a black man who was asking him about reparations. Yang could not walk away fast enough. Liar exposed. Respect lost. Vote lost.

  13. cough Mr. Yang if I may. TULSI WHERE ARE YOU IN THIS DEBATE?! SERIOUSLY YOU ARE GOING TO IGNORE THE WOMAN WHO WAS THE MOST SEARCHED ON THE INTERNET? THE WOMAN WHO HONESTLY COULD DEFEAT TRUMP WITH HER EYES CLOSED AND WITHOUT A SPEECH IN FRONT OF HER? FUCK YOU on to the 'open borders' issue. Here are the reasons why immigration fails.
    1. Immigration can benefit and hinder a country's progress. Illegal immigration MUST BE regulated because of many reasons and here they are in order.
    1. Overpopulation (this should be obvious)
    2. Disease transmission (Obvious)
    3. WAGE DISPARITIES
    4. STRESSORS ON EDUCATIONAL AND HEALTH RESOURCES
    5. REDUCES CHANCES FOR DEVELOPING COUNTRIES TO RISE
    6. easier economic exploitation (we are seeing that)
    7. Stress on local social services (WE ARE SEEING THAT)
    8. (this is the biggest one for me) HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATIONS.
Why don't we close the borders to all immigrants? I know that's so far right but why should we allow more ILLEGALS which is putting stress upon LEGAL immigrants who are waiting to BECOME CITIZENS.

  14. 1. Maybe more Americans should work as hard as Mexicans
    2. Maybe instead of being mad at Mexican people WORKING FOR US…be mad at the companies who hire them instead of you…

  15. It's refreshing to have a candidates that doesn't sound like a politician. And finally someone is proposing a trickle up economy solutions instead of a tickle down solution that the benefits never reaches the common people.

  16. If Yang makes it clear that he'll add the UBI to welfare and not replace it, I'll support him. Until then, he's 3rd on my list

  17. Andrew Yang … Stay away from CNN! I have Asian in my blood and honor is what we believe in. Mr. Yang … Don't forget about Honor!

  18. 1st great CNN bit I've ever seen. Cuomo is more likable in situations like this when he's really testing the candidate/Person-of-Interest rather then grandstanding about racism

  19. Damn I love Bernie but not everybody wants to work for the government! And “handout” is such a condescending term for what is accurately and aptly named for what it is, a dividend. He explains it all so clearly I don’t feel the need to be redundant. And we have the money and already spend or fail to save it- in military spending, and major tax breaks to big corporations, to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars… and we waste a lot too- on things that are cheaper to prevent, than to treat- like healthcare and housing. Homeless services and ER visits rack up huge numbers. Also, the dividend not on a monthly, but a yearly basis, has already been implemented in another form in Alaska for years and (surprise) they love it. It comes from oil…and ‘the oil of the future? Is tech’ (#yanggang) so tax the tech and get the money! It’s only fair. They built their whole multi-billion dollar empires on violating the privacy of their consumers, and on the backs of underpaid gig workers they are working to automate out of jobs #yanggang

  20. He might be good with domestic issues but not international ones, pretty sure Saudi Arabia will buy off his $ympathy just like other presidents

  21. I can't believe the comments of people that just heard of Yang.
The media did a good job at hiding and minimizing him.
At least he's getting recognition before it's too late.

  22. YANG gets it.. and good job by CUOMO by asking questions as if he was the opposition.. it's as if CUOMO wanted to go through a rehearsal with YANG to sharpen his responses so that YANG does well in the next debate (and perhaps beyond)

  23. It would be enough to go after the laws already on the books… like going after all of Trump's crimes. Preventing any more bullshit deals like Acosta did with Eppstein. NOT deregulating all the health and safety relevant pollution actions that rightfully were illegal or NOT pardonning shitbags like Joe Arpaio.Trump talked a big game, but like with his swamp promisses he did the opposite of what he promissed.

  24. Warehouses and Factories don't only have machines. While many people may have been replaced by machines, there are still working class jobs in those buildings. I've worked in a couple. It was mostly immigrants in the metro Atlanta area. I don't have a problem with immigrants, but let's not pretend that they don't come here and not fill jobs. Of course many of them will fill a job.

  25. No one is scapegoating precious immigrants for anything.

The mainstream narrative I hear repeated all the time is that these immigrants are better Americans than us and tacos are delicious etc..

We are giving the nation away but that is not good enough for fast enough for those that hate us.

ALso we have reached the point that those against democracy said would happen, it is just a game of people promising you free things now to get your stupid vote.

  26. @4:45 "on my back, no thanks…" No! It's off the backs of big corporations, who is benefiting from the status quo. Chill folks.

  27. Andrew yang wants to give money to the poor until he runs out. Horrible idea. "If I were the devil, I would take from those who have and I would give to those who wanted, until I killed the incentive of the ambitious."

    -Paul Harvey

  28. Legal immigration is great. Whoever debates Trump needs to call out his bs and stop the far left nonsense of let everyone in. Middle America is tired of hearing about how we need to save every immigrant from another country. Only select people are eligible for asylum. It doesn’t make sense to take in hundreds of thousands of people that will just go on benefits…let’s be honest.

  29. I see what the host is implying here and he's kinda right. People voted for trump not because of his detailed plans to fix America's economics, they voted for him because of his stronger immigration laws. Most of America has no clue about basic economics, but what they know is that they don't like immigrants and by eliminating them somehow America's economics will fix itself. I'd vote 4 this guy but most of America are way behind logically to elect Yang as the next democrat candidate never mind the next president.

  30. Yea it make SENSE you pay for the service, phone, internet, alexa, Google maps they gathe
r all your information and sell it where is my tech check stop stilling my information or give me the service for free this is what happens when the government is by the PEOPLE to serve the corporations math.

  31. The reason why Trump went after immigrants is because you can’t demonize robots and AI. You have to go after the people who spent millions of dollars replacing human labor with machines.

  32. Bernie Sanders wants a federal job guarantee, the problem is who the fuck would want to work with a government they don't agree with, if you aint obedient you basically aint getting paid LOL

  33. Andrew Yang makes so much sense but he is running on a single issue and its hard to trust the open mindness of people to understand what Yang is proposing.

  34. now why can't you have the same kind of interview with Bernie instead of the media smearing him. i'm sure you get to pick the job you work at, it isn't like you go to a line and they give you a federal job. i would much rather have a job then a hand out anyway stuck at home all the time would be a nightmare. i agree with the automation though and i'm sure that the right wing is just racist and doesn't want them around at all because of all the videos where people are rude to people that don't look like them. can you imagine a tractor trailer being auto that's just scary and i think we are a long way from that if ever.

  35. So ying yang is going to give everyone 1000 what about immigrants? I know fredo is not gonna ask the right questions. This fool things robots do everything and thats not true.

  36. The problems are Corporate money in politics and not racism but classcism thru a fascist imperialistic capitalism. Americans were sold out to corporations in 1968 when corporate political donations were allowed . these politicians do nothing but look out for their sponsors not the people. Enough is enough with these hypocritical scumbags who put profit before people, they write Orwellian legislation and impress us while sending our troops (myself included) to fight wars that benefit them only while we pay for it all.

  37. Bring it on i work my ass off every single day and still my ends dont meet. This works just fine in Alaska. Lets make this happen. I like Bernie but who wants a federal job guarantee? Not me! Healthcare for all, YES! Work for the government? YEAH, NO THANKS 🤔😂🤗

  38. If you do not earn it you aren't owed it. Sorry, that is life and fact. Show me where this has worked anywhere- you can't. Free healthcare isn't free- its paid by tax payers. Not free. Free $1,000a month. Free? NO, AND TAKING FROM COMPANIES HURT THE EMPLOYEES. We all want free stuff till we see that free costs taxpayers. It's illegal to tax a company to pay a federal program so that wouldn't work anyway.

  39. I hope Andrew Yang sticks around. Hes more conservative than people draw him, and he's young, smart, and makes sense.

  40. Look at trumps most recent rally- the comments are filled with support… how? I don’t understand how people are blind to his pure perversion of power and lies. I’m English so it’s hard to understand the reality on the ground. In my eyes yang is the obvious choice for both ends of the political spectrum- he is what America needs + what the republicans thought they were voting for with trump- can someone explain?

  41. The problem with socialism is not that you get stuff, it's the central planning and concentration of power. Freedom dividend/ UBI can function as a capital investment into citizens as long as it's decentralized.
